1st Annual CBX! Philadelphia. March 13th. 8 hours. 8 great bars hosting must attend beer events. Whats that you say? You want to hit as many of these stellar events as possible? Fear not Loyal Beer Geeks! The Craft Beer Express is here!
Details: Buses will run from 11am to 7pm with drop off/pick up running about every 30 minutes. Beer ambassadors will be on each bus talking beer, handing out swag and generally keeping the flow going smoothly.
You may begin your journey at any participating bar and get on as many buses as you wish. For those of you who live in the burbs, take the train and start downtown at Jose Pistolas!
The Bars and Events: We are hosting Bam Bam Bill's Barleywine Bonanza.
On deck: Ballast Point 3 sheets to the wind barleywine aged in syrah barrels, weyerbacher insanity aged in bourbon barrels, Otter creek barleywine fermented with champagne yeast and aged in oak barrels, Victory Old Horizontal, Stoudts Old abomindable, Yards Old Bart, Rock Art Ridge Runner and Flying Dog Horn Dog.
Also going on: 2nd annual Stout Brunch at Johnny Brenda's, Big Wood weekend at the Standard Tap, Around the Clock with DogfishHead at the Kite and Key, Brauhaus Schmitz has Carol Stoudt's newest creation, "Karnival Kolsch" as well as other great Stoudts and German brews, The Side Car has a day of Double IPA's, Both Devils Den and Jose Pistola's have TBD events.
Philadelphia Brewing Pop versus Punk dance party
Saturday March 27th 7pm-11pm
Come dressed in your best 80's pop or punk. The best outfit wins $50 gift certificate (couples may enter as well)
Philly Brewing's own Chris Morris will be spinning tunes all night
We have a specially done firkin so secret we can't say what it is yet!
On tap: Walt Wit, Rowhouse Red, Kenzinger, Newbold IPA and the oh so yummy fleur de lehigh all at $3 a pint!
